In this game, you investigate how a beetle population changes over four generations. At the beginning, the same number of animals of each beetle colour appears in the playing field.
During a generation, you remove individual beetles by tapping or clicking. The beetles that remain when the time is up are considered the surviving animals of that generation.
After each generation, the next population is formed from the surviving beetles. If enough beetles remain, the survivors are doubled. If fewer than 20 beetles remain, the population is proportionally increased to 60 animals.
After four generations, the chart shows how the number and relative proportion of the beetle types have changed. Pay special attention to which colours become rarer or more common and how selection changes the composition of the population.
